DACRIL is a multifilament, synthetic, absorbable, sterile suture made of polyglycolic acid. It is coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. The sutures are available violet or beige (undyed). The polyglycolic acid and covering layers are non-antigenic and non-pyrogenic, and absorption elicits only a minor tissue reaction.
